A question on Memali turns the Nothing to Hide 2.0 debate into chaos
(The Star) – The Nothing To Hide 2.0 forum featuring a no-holds barred session with former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad had to be suspended after several individuals created a ruckus by throwing objects towards the stage.
The incident occurred midway through the session on Sunday, when Dr Mahathir was standing on stage and was answering a question on the 1985 Memali tragedy.
A bottle was suddenly seen being flung from the crowd towards the stage, and the hall erupted into chaos as chairs and flares were also thrown.
The session was immediately suspended and Dr Mahathir as well as other Opposition politicians attending the forum were quickly escorted out of the hall.
Two men, suspected to be among those who provoked the violence, have been arrested by police.
