YELLOW noodles swimming in a savoury gravy redolent of dried prawns, cumin and lemongrass. There’s so much to love about this plate of Mee Jawa served with slices of chicken, hard-boiled egg and beancurd, with bean sprouts to add a pleasing crunch.

Topped by slices of red chilli and coriander, the flavour-packed dish is suitable for breakfast or lunch. All this goodness is yours for only RM2 a plate at Warung Hasmida or RM3 for the “special” version which comes with more noodles and fried chicken.

Other items on the menu include laksa, fried chicken rice, chicken in red sauce with rice and rice with a curry, all of which are available at RM2.

Warung Hasmida, owned by Hamidah Ramli, is located near Jubilee Ground along Jalan Tan Sri Datuk William Tan in Kuching.
