Tatiana Maslany, Kate Mara and James Van Der Beek join the cast of TV series ‘Pose’
LOS ANGELES, Oct 28 — The addition of actors Tatiana Maslany, Kate Mara, James Van Der Beek and Evan Peters to the cast of Ryan Murphy’s (American Horror Story) upcoming series Pose brings new info about its plot, reports Deadline.
After an unprecedented five transgender actors were announced on the cast of “Pose,” Deadline reports that four familiar faces from the American small screen are also joining the show. The news brings more information about the plot of this series set in New York in the 1980s.
No stranger to the singular world of Ryan Murphy after starring in seven seasons of American Horror Story, Evan Peters is lined up to play Stan, who is married to Patty, played by Kate Mara. The actress has also worked with the series creator on several previous occasions (Nip/Tuck, American Horror Story season 1). The pair play a couple from New Jersey who get drawn into the glamour and intrigue of the Big Apple.
James Van Der Beek, aka Dawson from Dawson’s Creek, will play Matt, a financial heavyweight who also happens to be Stan’s boss. Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) will play a modern dance teacher fascinated by the talent of a dancer called Damon (Ryan Jamaal Swain).
These four actors join transgender cast members MJ Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Hailie Sahar and Angelica Ross, who star as Blanca, Angel, Elektra, Lulu and Candy.
The pilot, ordered by network FX and due to be filmed next month, will explore New York in the 1980s, with the juxtaposition of several contradictory lifestyles, the emergence of an underground cultural and literary scene, life in working-class neighborhoods and the rise of the luxury Trump-era world. — AFP-Relaxnews
