IPOH, Nov 3 ― Perak Ruler Sultan Nazrin Shah has conferred state awards on 331 individuals in conjunction with the 61st anniversary of his birthday which was celebrated today.
The Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Sallehuddin Alhmarhum Sultan Badlishah, who was conferred the Darjah Kerabat Diraja Yang Amat Dihormati, headed the list of recipients at the investiture to be held at the Balairung Seri, Istana Iskandariah, Kuala Kangsar, on Sunday.
State Secretary Datuk Seri Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan, at a media conference at his office today said the conferment of awards that carried the title Datuk Seri; Datuk Seri Panglima; Datuk and Datuk Pahlawan would be held on Sunday while other awards would be presented on Nov 11.
He said that for this year, the Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Perak which carries the title Datuk Seri were conferred on the Director-General of Public Service Tan Sri Zainal Rahim Seman and Pos Malaysia Berhad Chairman Tan Sri Dr Mohd Kamil Jamil.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim and Army Chief, Jeneral Tan Sri Zulkiple Kassim both received the award Darjah Seri Panglima Taming Sari which carries the title Datuk Seri Panglima.
Meanwhile, the State Exco for Women, Family and Social Welfare Development, Housing and Local Government Datuk Rusnah Kassim was among the three recipients of the Darjah Datuk Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini which carries the title Datuk.
The two other recipients were the State Exco for Entrepreneurial and Cooperatives Development, Consumerism, Non-Governmental Organisation and Civil Society Datuk Samsudin Abu Hassan and the Managing Director of Kamalbina Sdn Bhd Datuk Kamarulbahrin Zainuddin.
New Straits Times Group Editor Datuk Yushaimi Maulud Yahaya and Perak State Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk S.Thangasvari were among 20 recipients of the award Datuk Paduka Mahkota Perak which carries the title Datuk.
Special Branch Head at the Perak Contingent Police Headquarters, Datuk Mazlan Santarai and Selangor Police Chief, Datuk Mazlan Mansor were among four recipients of the Darjah Datuk Pahlawan Taming Sari which carries the title Datuk Pahlawan.
Meanwhile, Dr Edzan Che Nasir from the Registrar”s Office of the University of Malaya and Prof Dr Mohd Mustafa Mohd Ghazali from Universiti Teknologi Mara, Puncak Alam Campus were among four recipients of the Darjah Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini.
Former athletic athlete who is also an athletic coach with the National Sports Council, S.Josephine Mary, national triple jump athlete Muhammad Hakim Ismail and Perak Football Team captain Mohd Nasir Basharudin were among the 654 recipients of the Ahli Mahkota Perak.
The Pingat Pekerti Terpilih was awarded to 92 recipients including Royal Malaysian Navy personnel Mohd Nazri Seman who succeeded in guiding two of his children, Nor Adrina Adlyna,19, and Nor Nabila Natasha,15, to the extent winning several sailing championships at the international level.
Twenty-eight individuals were awarded the Darjah Paduka Mahkota Perak; 10 received the Darjah Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini; 96 received the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian, while four individuals received the Long Service Medal. ― Bernama
