NEW YORK, Nov 9 ― Elton John celebrated the 25th anniversary of his AIDS foundation at its annual New York gala on Tuesday (November 7).
During the event, John was honored by the organization he founded in 1992 for AIDS “prevention, treatment, supporting services, and advocacy programs around the United States.”
The British singer’s continued efforts were praised by AIDS advocate Jeanne White-Ginder and former US president Bill Clinton, who said John stood for love and kindness.
The gala was hosted by actor Neil Patrick Harris and raised more than US$4.3 million (RM18.1 million) through a live auction.
Motown legend Aretha Franklin, Heather Headley and Joshua Bell all performed during the event. ― Reuters
