KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 18 — The auditor of DAP’s repeat election of its central executive committee has not returned its report on the event, the party said today after the Registrar of Societies (RoS) stated that it has not been informed of the new office holders.
DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, who was returned to the position following the polls on November 12, also noted that his party was not obliged to return the information immediately to the federal agency.
“DAP has 60 days to submit a report to the ROS and we have to await for the report from Grant Thornton, as they were instructed by ROS to conduct the re-election,” he said in a statement.
He revealed that the CEC met for the second time on November 15, during which it co-opted Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Prof Dr P. Ramasamy into the committee to replace Selangor Speaker Hannah Yeoh who declined her appointment.
The CEC also reaffirmed Lim Kit Siang as DAP’s parliamentary leader and established several bureaus along with their respective heads.
The RoS yesterday said it has not received the report of the re-election that it ordered the DAP to conduct following complaints over the 2012 edition.
