PETALING JAYA: It is puppies galore again at the Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better (MDDB) adoption drive on Sunday (July 16).

The adoption drive will be held at Jaya One, Jalan 13/6, Petaling Jaya from 11am to 6pm at the open space near  Block NB1 car park, behind the Fotokem and 7Eleven outlets.

MDDB adoption coordinator Christine Lai said only five out of the 18 two-month-old puppies were adopted at the adoption drive last Sunday.

“We need to find homes for the puppies before they grow bigger as we do not have the space for them,” she said.

All the puppies have been given their first vaccinations, said Lai, adding that there will also be older puppies and young dogs at the adoption drive.

“The older puppies have been fully vaccinated while the young dogs have been neutered,” she said.

She added that MDDB currently had far too many puppies and young dogs that were in need of homes.

Lai also said MDDB was raising funds to complete the construction of its sanctuary near Rawang so that all the rescued dogs will have ample space to move around.

“We hope to secure sufficient funds to complete the sanctuary within the next two months,” said Lai.

Those who want to donate towards the construction can drop off their contributions at the adoption drive.
