PETALING JAYA: Action will be taken against a policeman who was photographed using his mobile phone while riding his motorcycle recently.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar gave this assurance in a tweet he posted today, with an accompanying image of the misconduct which was published in theSun’s Monday edition.
“Thank you @theSundaily for highlighting this. Action will be taken against this personnel @PDRMsia,” he posted.
One Twitter user, @lovemegods123 replied saying: “Impartial action against any wrongdoers, even if they are VVIPs. This is equality.”
Another user @OoNeyAbraymen urged for the matter to be investigated first, saying: “Maybe he was just looking at the Google Maps. It is dangerous, but sometimes, the situation calls for this.”
theSun had on Monday published the image, which was contributed by a reader, in its daily with the title “bad example”, showing the policeman using his handphone with his left hand, posing danger to himself and other motorists on the road.
