BAGAN DATUK: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi does not want outsiders to interfere and disturb the people of Bagan Datuk.
“In the past, people from other places had made wild accusations and slanders.
“That was in the past and we must ensure this year and 2018 no one should influence the stability of Bagan Datuk,” he said in his speech a Teachers Day event at SJK (C) Sungai Tiang, here today.
“We were angry with some people from Teluk Intan, Penang, Taiping and Kuala Lumpur for destabilising the political landscape after the last two general elections which brought about a (political) tsunami,” he added.
“The people and voters should not be influenced by such tactics and should stay united and strong … let us decide our political future.
“We want development projects in Bagan Datuk and also make the district as the number one in the education sector in the state.
“Bagan Datuk is a district by itself now and we are looking for development like highways, polytechnics, community colleges and bridges,” he added.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Bagan Datuk MP, announced additional allocation of RM200,000 each for SJK(T) and SJK(C) in the district for tuition classes.
