LOS ANGELES, Nov 1 — Seven years after former lead singer Rich Cronin lost his battle to leukaemia, another LFO member has received devastating news related to his health.
According to CNN, Devin Lima was diagnosed with stage four cancer after having a massive tumour removed from his abdomen.
A biopsy of the 40-year-old’s tumour, which was removed a week ago, revealed he has stage four adrenal cancer — a rare form of the disease in the adrenals, which are small glands above the kidneys.
Lima will undergo chemotherapy and radiation as part of his treatment in hopes to remove any remaining cancer cells present in his body, the report added.
Fellow band member Brad Fischetti delivered the news in a video to fans on Monday.
“I wish we had better news to share,” Fischetti said in the video.
“It’s devastating news, but at the same time, there’s nobody I know stronger than Devin Lima,” he continued. “No one has a stronger body, mind or soul. If anybody can defeat this it’s Devin.”
Stage four cancer is also sometimes referred to as advanced cancer and means the disease has spread to other organs or parts of the body.
LFO are known for their hit songs Summer Girls and Girl on TV both released in 1999.
