SHAH ALAM, Nov 4 — Tickets all sold-out, thanks to the big-match aura of the Malaysia Cup final between two formidable foes Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Kedah, said Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) in describing ticket sales yesterday.
JDT and Kedah were allocated for 30,000 adult tickets and 750 for kids respectively at their home stadium counters on Nov 1. Then 10,000 tickets were open to sale online on Oct 30.
FMLLP chief executive officer Kevin Ramalingam said tickets allocated for JDT and Kedah fans were sold out at their home stadium in no time “while the additional 1000 tickets given by Tunku Ismail (Ibrahim) to Kedah supporters yesterday were sold out within an hour,” he said yesterday.
Earlier Thursday evening, the FAM president said he would look into the ticket situation following claims that Kedah Umno’s youth wing had distributed tickets to its members to ensure “cheery support” for Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah.
“We have given away the additional tickets which fans booked online. Based on my observation today, the collecting sessions are all smooth and we can expect a good game tomorrow,” Tunku Ismail said.
