KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 — Financial institutions (FIs) will continue to offer assistance to customers, both individuals and businesses, in flood-affected areas.
In a joint statement today, the Association of Banks in Malaysia and Association of Development Finance Institutions of Malaysia said several banks confirmed that their flood-affected branches were restored and operational.
“For bank branches which have not yet been fully restored, customers can proceed to the nearest unaffected branches of their respective banks for banking services,” they said.
In the case of self-service machines, as some of the automated teller machines and cash/cheque deposit machines may not yet be fully functioning, banks would allocate resources to ensure that over-the-counter services are available, the statement added. — Bernama
