The film, which tells the tale of the young smuggler Han Solo, will definitely have a preview showing at Cannes. On Friday, April 6, the organizers of the event put an end to rumours when they announced that it would be projected as part of the festival’s “Out of Competition” selection.

Directed by Ron Howard, Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo and Paul Bettany.

The film will be released in theatres on May 25, after the May 15 showing at the 71st Cannes Film Festival, which is set to run from May 8 to May 19. — AFP-Relaxnews
