With many anxious fans calling in, organisers are now scrambling to come up with a solution.

“Thank you for all your messages and calls in regards to the upcoming elections and Bruno Mars concert, please stay tuned to PR Worldwide for an official announcement,” the event organiser wrote on its Facebook page this afternoon.

As at writing time, there has been no update.

Malay Mail has tried reaching out to PR Worldwide for further comments.

With thousands expected to head home to vote in their respective hometowns, today’s announcement has inevitable given organisers and promoters a scheduling headache.

Around 12,000 fans were expected to catch the 24K Magic pop star in the now sold-out concert, but now many are worried about travel disruption.

The concert was scheduled to start at 8.30pm, but polling only closes in the late afternoon in most centres.

Several Facebook users argued they would stand to lose out serious money if the date was changed.

One such user remarked she had spent over RM1,000 on flights and accommodation to see the World Tour stopover here.

Others insisted on a date change to allow them to perform their democratic duty in their hometowns, requesting refunds and the possibility for Mars to perform on another date in the future.

In the run-up to Malaysia, Mars was set to play two dates each in Bangkok, Manila and Singapore.
