GEORGE TOWN, April 17 — Penang Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) chairman Marzuki Yahya will contest in the Tasek Gelugor parliamentary constituency, the only parliamentary seat that the party will be contesting in the state in the 14th general election (GE14).
Marzuki, 48, made the announcement at the Kelab Cinta Sayang in Sungai Petani late last night.
“I will contest in the only parliamentary seat contested by PPBM in Penang,” he said.
In the GE14, PPBM, one of the parties in the Opposition pact, will nominate its candidates for one parliamentary and four state seats in Penang.
Marzuki, when contacted by Bernama today, also announced PPBM candidates to contest in four state seats in Penang, namely, Yaakob Osman in Penaga; Khaliq Mehtab Mohd Ishaq in Bertam; Datuk Seri Mohd Sharif Omar in Permatang Berangan; and Zolkifly Md Lazim in Teluk Bahang.
He said the announcement of the party’s candidates was made after the state PPBM committee meeting last night. — Bernama
